Thank you for this post. Registration has been a huge headache for me as I keep printing things wonky 🙄 with my cardboard one. I am going to give this jig idea a go!
So sorry to read about your cat.. What an age though!
I have been eyeing Laura's jig up for a while now and had very similar thoughts about whether these issues would cause me to regret the time taken to try (always try things though, hey.) Sounds like you are generally in the positive camp so far? Living your prints btw.
Definitely positive with regards to the registration - the relief!! The uneven pressure is a PITA (see follow up post) but I am pretty sure that is down to the plywood. I will try some MDF (when I can shift myself to head back to the DIY store which is a whole mile away - stamps foot petulantly).
I'm guessing 'living' is a typo for 'loving'? But either way it's a lovely thing to say, thank you :D
Ha! Perhaps I should delete this post and leave you to think it is all done by magic.
Thanks for your words about Jessie. We were able to arrange for a vet to come out to us here and send her gently on her way while she was having her post-breakfast snooze at home in her bed. May we all be granted such a peaceful exit.
Such an interesting read and insights into (part of) your process. I hope your new set up works well for you Jane. Also, very sorry to hear of your loss. Even though Jessie had a really good innings, I am sure you will miss her a lot. May she rest in heavenly feline peace. xx

Let me know how you get on! I've written a couple of follow-up posts after this one ironing out a few wrinkles with the technique.

Yes, loving…although, living the experience/challenge/reward of registering reduction prints!
I had often wondered how you lined up all the layers and now I know! Very interesting
So sorry to hear about Jessie - it is always hard to lose a loved cat even when they are old and frail.

That’s a much kinder way for Jessie than vet trauma.
Yes I didn't want her last hour to be spent howling in her carrier.

Thank you Jill, that's kind. x
