It is that time of year when all self-employed artists and craftspeople are required to shout uncomfortably about their wares, so I shall try to get this over with as quickly as possible with minimum embarrassment for both of us. Everything mentioned below is under £20 which I hope falls into the definition of ‘feasible present’.
The Wolves are Running - NEW
Just in time for Box of Delights season (yes that absolutely is a thing), I have a new drinks coaster design featuring a detail of my ‘The Wolves are Running’ print. These smart glossy cork-backed coasters measure 9 x 9 cm and cost £5 each or £16 for four. I’m really pleased with them.
My previous coaster designs of ‘Bluebell Woods’, ‘Rolling’ and ‘Look Up’ are also all back in stock.
Lanterns
I have put my small remaining stock of handmade lanterns back in my online shop. I have just two each of the pink and blue versions of the Tulip Garland design in this photo (front row left and centre) and I have reduced the price from £21 to £16. Each comes with a free little LED battery tea light.
Bunting
This is a blast from the past (which is my excuse for the poor quality photo). When rummaging through boxes in the studio I found two packs of this Christmas bunting. Each string comprises seven pennants made from Japanese paper which have been handprinted with stars and holly and then waxed. It costs £10 a pack or you can get both remaining packs for £15.
Tote bags
There is a pattern developing here, as I also have just two of these cotton tote bags. Handprinted with my ‘York’ lettering with a Yorkshire Rose as the O, they have been reduced from £8 to £5.
Coasters, lanterns, bunting and bags can all be found in the Gifts and Home section of my shop.
Also….
(which must always be said in Olivia Colman’s voice because of this)
Having said everything would be under £20, it would be remiss of me not to mention that I do of course also have original prints available, for somewhat more than £20, should you wish to splash out for either yourself or a loved one.
Last orders
If you’re going with standard delivery then I would recommend ordering by Monday 16th December. If you’re upgrading to First Class post then you can leave ordering to Wednesday 18th December, but the shop will CLOSE for orders from 19th December to avoid risking disappointment.
GPSR and Northern Ireland
I’m afraid that after 12th December I will no longer be able to ship to Northern Ireland because of the introduction of GPSR and the inclusion of Northern Ireland in its scope. I’m so sorry if this affects you. If you are in Northern Ireland you will still be able to place orders up until 10th December. (Brexit, the gift that just keeps giving - and yes after more than 8 years I am still angry).

Studio update
Following the horror story I related in my last post (link below), I think I am back on track.
After leaving everything a full two weeks to dry out I risked printing the next layer and it appears to have gone down without issue - no weird ectoplasmic white ink manifesting itself from nowhere. I have turned the radiator in the studio up by a notch, a move of which the cat wholeheartedly approves, and I’m sure the change in atmosphere has helped things. As well as the effect on the drying rack, that small increase in temperature has made a difference to the ink too, which is now behaving on the slab and roller like it does in the summer….which brings a whole other set of issues. It so hard to hit the sweet spot of temperature and humidity that it makes me wonder why you don’t hear of wealthy printmakers having fancy climate-controlled studios. Actually I think that just by typing the oxymoron ‘wealthy printmakers’ I have answered my own question…
That was the last strongly coloured layer; the remaining ones will be translucent blues and greys which will modify the colours already there and create the shadows. This is where the magic starts.
I’ll end now and I hope I’ve given you some ideas for presents. Thanks for the supportive comments left on my last post. Things are on the up again now!
See you soon
