Hello
I’m afraid this post is going to be a bit ME, ME, ME because it’s all about my own prints and exhibitions. I will revert to more general waffle in the next newsletter.
First up I am duty bound to remind you that the York Printmakers annual Print Fair is this weekend. I am currently surrounded by labels, lists, display stands, bags of hooks and the other paraphernalia I need to pack in the car. I should probably remember to take my actual prints too. And some cereal bars and a bottle of water. And my phone. And my reading glasses.
Now in its seventh year the fair has become something of a destination event with people travelling considerable distances to visit us. That’s probably because not only does the fair present high quality work in a lovely setting, but all the printmakers taking part are there in person and very happy to talk about their work, explain what they do and share their knowledge. This year we’re even going to have a tea and coffee wagon outside so you can linger a bit longer.
New work
These two new prints, Cloudy with Sunny Spells and Morning Bluebells, will be on sale for the first time at the fair and will then be in my online shop when it re-opens next week. (It will be closed during the fair).

Showing off
In my last letter I mentioned that I’d been down to Ironbridge to hand in a piece for the Ironbridge Fine Arts Printmaking Competition Exhibition. What I wasn’t allowed to tell you at the time because it hadn’t yet been officially announced, was that my linoprint Boardwalk had been selected for a special award, courtesy of ink and paint manufacturers, Cranfield. Here’s a screenshot of the gallery’s website with some comments about why Boardwalk received the award. (Yes I am very much blowing my own trumpet here because someone has to).
The exhibition continues until November and, as I mentioned in my last letter, it is a very lovely part of the world to visit.

Now I must get back to packing up the car and then I’m off to the cemetery chapel to help set up the exhibition screens and get everything ready.
See you again soon or maybe even this weekend?
Jane
Looking forward to visiting The Printmakers Fair tomorrow. 😊
Congratulations on your Cranfield award 👏🏻
The whole Ironbridge show looks full of printing delights (from what I have seen online) so take all the credit you can!
