Sorry to shout FREE in the heading, but I wanted to grab your attention as this is pretty darned important.
I told you last week about the York Printmakers Festival of Print. Well it has started today and, flying in the face of generally received opinion on what is even vaguely sensible or realistic in a timescale of less than a month, we have completely, and rather beautifully, filled the three rooms of our pop-up shop with an enticing display of original prints, artist books and greetings cards, plus a full-sized press and everything we need to show you round the wonderful world of printmaking. My friend and talented printmaker, Jen Dring, has just posted this view of the first day on Instagram. (She’s the lovely sunny person winding the press).
But I lured you into opening this post with the word FREE. Every Saturday, starting tomorrow, there will be free live demonstrations of different types of printmaking. For a full schedule click this button.
There is also a programme of paid workshops - all under £25 and some only £5. These are going to be popular so click below for more information and to book.
You can find all this at:
22 High Petergate
York
YO1 7EHFridays and Saturdays 10am - 5pm
Sundays 10am - 4pmJust round the corner from York Minster and on the way to the York Art Gallery.
A selection of my framed work is in the shop this weekend, and a wider range plus unframed work will be there from Friday 30th May to Sunday 8th June.
Online shop closure
As a lot of my unframed stock will be in this real-life pop-up shop, I will be closing my virtual online one on Tuesday morning until Monday 9th June. So if there is something you have had your eye on, you might want to make a move this weekend.
See you soon I hope, either at the Festival or here.
